Methodology of the CoRisk-Index

The methodology behind the CoRisk-Index proceeds in four steps:

1. Data scraping on a weekly basis,
2. extracting corona-related keywords,
3. matching SIC with NAICS industry codes,
4. calculating the CoRisk Index – Current methodology: (avg. corona-keyword count per report * avg. share of negative words in corona-mentioning sentences per industry)^1/2.
